Two New Stories!
08:31pm 14/04/2003

mood: excited
Co-written with [info]slytherinslut, Dominus et Servus is now posted. It's a PWP fic featuring Lucius Malfoy and Severus Snape, set in their seventh year at Hogwarts.

I adore writing with Sexy Slytherin, so expect to see more from us, provided she's willing to put up with me. ^.^

Along with that comes Miko no da, who was kind enough to give me the fic Mistletoe Madness. I took my sweet time about getting it posted, because I'm a lazy bum. But it's finally up. And it's wonderful. It's a Sirius Black/Remus Lupin fic full of sweetness and slash. Check it out!

Oh wow . . . [info]mlle_skeetre was kind enough to allow me to archive her Pansy/Hermione drabble along with my own. She's incredible, and I'm so very honored to host her work.

Gold and Mud is the name of the new section, and is a branch of Size Two Silver Cauldron. The drabble there is short, barely more than a thought or two, but undeniably addictive to those who like the pairing. The initial obsession with it was inspired by [info]the_dungeons visions of Pansy and Hermione.

New Story!

In addition to the three part series that I am writing by myself, [info]rhina has agreed to join me in an epistolary undertaking. Thus the story Egyptian Owls begins.

As yet, there is little to recommend it. There are only two letters thus far, but I suspect that Hermione's naturally serious nature will be well-countered by Bill's chipper attitude towards life.

I should be rather quick to point out that Rhina and I are having a blast writing it! I have very high hopes for this fic.

In other news, Dictates of the Conscience is coming along well. I hope to post the unedited first chapter sometime around the first of next week. (I'd like to note that I will cease posting unedited versions of the fics once my beta-reader stops being swamped by real life.)

Strength of Conviction is finally posted in its entirity. Unfortunately, it is still partially unedited, due to one of my three betas having to deal with Real Life before editing. However, I have been assured that when she can, she will edit the rest of the story, and as soon as I recieve the editing job, I will be sure to edit the fic and post a notice. I'm not expecting any major plot changes. Instead, she'll be catching mostly grammar and spelling and the like.

Dictates of the Conscience has begun. I'm very hopeful about having the first chapter out (possibly sans editing, just as this one is) in a reasonably timely fashion.

Good News!

Strength of Conviction is currently complete and awaiting beta-reading. I anticipate posting it sometime between today and Wednesday.

Because the entire story ended up only being about 18 pages, I intend to post it all as one big story, rather than breaking it into bits after all. It's the way I'd originally intended to post it, before I began to see what a monster it would become.

For those people who read part one, you should be able to begin reading where you left off if you skim to about the halfway mark.

Optimism

Provided everything goes my way both in the betas area and in the general writing area, there's a very good chance that I'll get the conclusion to Strength of Conviction posted by the middle of next week! This is very optimistic due to two other distractions currently in my life:

[info]the_dungeons is a Harry Potter RPG community where I am playing Hermione Granger. I'm having loads of fun with her character, but there are times I have to corral my mind into writing mode again.
HP Hogwarts is yet another Harry Potter RPG, but this one isn't slated to open until the end of April. The only reason that it's keeping me so distracted is because I run it. We still need a lot of major characters, so check it out and apply for something.

In the meantime, I have gotten quite a bit done with Strength of Conviction, and provided everything continues to flow as it did tonight, my projected deadline should be accurate! Whee!

Thank you and Update

Thank you to everyone who has given me feedback on Strength of Conviction! I've really enjoyed hearing from each of you, and look forward to continuing to hear from people.

The second part of Strength of Conviction is going much more slowly, but it is not stalled at all. The only reason I make note of the speed at all is because I want people to be well aware that there is, indeed, more coming. It was stalled for a short time while my brain told me to gloss the scenes and my muse (the snarky Snape) informed me that if I glossed over important bits of information, he would personally see to it that I would be served to Lord Voldemort on a silver platter.

Needless to say, I have yet to actually gloss much. This is what made it into such a monster of a fic that I split it up in the first place. Please simply bear with me. I hope to deliver the next part to you soon!

Strength of Conviction Part One

Due to the fact that SoC turned into a monster in terms of size, I've decided to split it up into parts. To that end, I've gotten the first part edited and posted, for anyone who cares!

Website update

Because I like all the pages in each section of darkhuntress.com to match, I've updated the Size Two Silver Cauldron main site to better match both it's livejournal and its links page. While they aren't perfectly alike, you will find enough symmetry between them all (and the story pages, I should note) to easily see the theme.

I should note that Strength of Conviction is coming along well now. At this point, it is looking like I will split it into at least two parts (I was originally planning to make it all one page) because of how large it has grown. If that is the case, I have already decided where to split it, and will look at getting the first section edited and posted sometime within the next couple of weeks. I really look forward to seeing how it will be recieved. For those looking forward to it (likely none, since I've not been advertising it as yet except for here), the main characters in this one will primarily be Severus Snape and Hermione Granger, and it is set after Goblet of Fire, with spoilers for that book.

Although you can't currently see it (as I have no stories posted), I have settled upon a final design for my stories. For the most part, it will match this LJ and my links page, which has once more been updated with a few links. I'm being lazy about the links page, really. There are so many links I still need to add, but I haven't done it yet. I feel ridiculous. On the other hand, I have gotten more writing done. There's a good chance that I'll be posting the first story, Strength of Conviction, in a month or two.

The reason I'm giving myself so long to post is due to the schedule I've created for myself:

  1. Finish the story.
  2. Send it to my betas.
  3. Get it back from betas and edit it.
  4. Send it back to my betas.
  5. Get my betas' final comments and edit the story again.
  6. Post.

As you can see, it's going to be a long process, but it should ensure that I'm posting pretty quality works. I certainly hope it does! While I'm waiting for beta comments, by the way, I'll be working on the next part to be posted, so once the first story is posted, it shouldn't seem to be quite so long of a wait. Anyway, I have to get back to writing. I just thought I'd update my LJs before I got seriously into it.

By the way, a final note: if anyone who's reading this is interested in being a beta, please contact me!

Inspiration and Reference

This site, which houses links to websites I have used for either inspiration or reference for my own stories, is now posted. For its design, I have used the Disjointed design from Livejournal, and tweaked that until I like the look. I will likely continue to use the design in most of my cauldron sites. Ultimately, I expect only the splash page and fic pages to be different.

Inspiration and Reference links will be posted soon. For now, there are only two available, because now that I have the design down that I want, I wish to return to Strength of Conscience. I hope to post more very soon.

The story has officially begun, though I can assure you that it will still be quite some time before it sees the light of day online. But after planning out these fics for well over three months, it's a pleasure to finally begin work. Along with that I will be creating the links page today finally. This should be a productive day.
